Vincera Promotes Key Executives To Greater Leadership Roles

--Promotion of CEO Malmstedt to Chairman of Board, and CMO Schick to COO, to enhance Vincera’s VIP document security software sales via superior leadership--

AUSTIN, TEXAS (December 14, 2006) – Vincera, Inc., the document security company whose software allows their clients to protect, monitor, measure and manage the distribution of intellectual property and “data in motion” that contains sensitive or personal data, today announced the promotion of two key executives. Dave Malmstedt, Vincera's CEO and President, has been promoted to Chairman of the Board, and Kevin Schick has been promoted to COO from his former position as CMO. Schick is assuming leadership for marketing, sales and engineering with this transition. Collectively, these executives possess over 60 years of go-to-market expertise. The promotions serve to advance sales of the company’s flagship document security product, Vincera Intelligent ProtectionTM (VIP), into verticals in need of e-distributed document security, such as healthcare, financial services, retail, pharmaceuticals, and government agencies, including defense industries.

As Chairman and CEO of Vincera, Inc., Mr. Malmstedt brings more than 30 years of experience in driving growth for numerous enterprise software companies. His vision has moved Vincera from two product lines that emphasized piracy prevention and behavior monitoring to a single solution focused on digital asset security and tracking. This vision uniquely delivers to the market the ability to protect “data in motion” just as organizations protect their data at rest, monitor the document thread, measure distribution metrics against business criteria and manage the access including the ability to disable and enable secured documents. Mr. Malmstedt's prior roles include service as COO and Director of The Kernel Group, a private storage management software company whose acquisition by Veritas Software he expedited; Executive Vice President, Worldwide Field Operations for Legato Systems, Inc., a public storage management software company; Senior Vice President, Worldwide Field Operations for FullTime Software, Inc., which was acquired by Legato Systems, Inc; Vice President, Americas and Asia Pacific for Candle Corporation; Vice President, Central Area for Legent Corporation; and co-founder, Business Software Technology, Inc., where he cultivated and grew the start-up into a successful organization acquired by Legent Corporation.

For over 30 years, Mr. Schick’s “outside-the-box” approach has delivered winning go-to-market campaigns that increase sales, achieve higher channel value, and result in excellent customer satisfaction and market recognition. By uniquely blending product management, corporate marketing, business development, sales, and software engineering, he has successfully brought to market products, solutions, and companies in a variety of characterizations from launch and growth, to channel development, to brand positioning. Schick's 30-year career as an analyst, consultant, and marketer in numerous technology industry verticals prepared him for his new role as Vincera ’s COO. Prior to joining Vincera , Inc., Mr. Schick held senior positions in both public and private companies, including Vice President of Product Management for global ecommerce solutions, Commerce One; Senior Vice President of Marketing, ClientSoft, Inc; Analyst, Gartner Group; and management positions at Cacheon, Inc., Viasoft, Inc., AnswerThink Consulting Group, and Andersen Consulting.

Vincera Intelligent Protection™ (VIP), Vincera’s flagship document security software

product, is an information distribution technology that greatly reduces the risk of

security breaches inherent in the e-distribution and storage of sensitive data by

enabling government agencies and companies to set their own needs-driven rules to

secure, track and manage the distribution of all e-distributed sensitive content and

"data in motion".

Vincera Document ThreadTM, now a standard, integral feature of VIP, operates

according to user-selected guidelines Vincera labels  “business friendly distribution,”

enabling CSO’s and other InfoSec VIP customers to deter and detect document

tampering and breach, and to disable access to the documents from the point of

breach forward if the VIP customer so chooses.

With VIP’s document threading, InfoSec professionals can deter their own document recipients from tampering with or breaching e-distributed material, either by setting stringent security levels by “dialing in” greater security, informing document recipients that their activities can be individually traced, or both. Document threading capabilities also enable e-discovery, forensic detection, and the early detection or prevention of a breach via established audit trails: When the VIP customer “dials in” a given security level for a given document, that customer is notified if the document in question is shared beyond the VIP customer’s self-defined limits. Finally, VIP’s document threading capabilities are so accurate that VIP customers can choose to disable any given document for any given thread/subset of users. Disabling the document means not only that the information cannot be forwarded, but that any sensitive information already distributed will be disabled as well.

Concluded Malmstedt, “Kevin and I have collaborated successfully with the entire Vincera team to bring InfoSec professionals in diverse industry sectors VIP software, the first viable and easily applied option for distributed document and “data in motion” security. I look forward to heading the Board, and to continuing work with Kevin as he coalesces our sales, marketing and engineering initiatives to lengthen Vincera ’s reach into helping key verticals such as pharmaceutical, healthcare, financial services, and defense. Document security is Vincera ’s business; we look forward to making the highest e-distributed document security a reality for America ’s industries and government.”
