What's new in VIP 3.0?

  1. Email Thread Security – Protect sensitive email (body & attachments) by converting the email body and over 300 attachment types into VIP protected documents. Watermark the email body and attachments with the recipient's email address to create a unique document thread. Monitor, measure and manage (including enable, disable and expire) this unique document thread. Also, easily and automatically assign a security classification based on the role/function of the document, i.e. all documents from Legal would be assigned a set level of security policy.
  2. Global Alert Values – Set global values that will trigger email alerts when the number of machines used to view a document, IP addresses through which a document is viewed or total number of document views exceed allowed parameters.
  3. Persistent Encryption - Apply the appropriate encryption algorithm based on the requirements of the content and rest assured that the encryption protection will travel and persist throughout the distribution of the content, not just to the 1st recipient and not just for those recipients that you know about.
  4. Alerts by Machine & IP Address - Set machine and IP address thresholds. When the number of different machines (i.e. laptops and desktops)and/or the number of IP addresses through which a document is viewed reaches an allowed limit, VIP automatically generates and sends an alert email to designated recipients.
  5. Active Directory Group Authentication – Set, within the policy option, an Active Directory group name against which the document will be authenticated. If no Active Directory group name is specified then the document will authenticate against the entire domain.
  6. Single Machine Document Access – Bind the document access to a single machine (i.e a laptop or desktop). The document can only be accessed from this one machine.
  7. Multi-Server Installation – Easily deploy, configure and install VIP on multiple servers.
  8. IIS non-Dependency – Very soon, you will be able to deploy VIP without installing Internet Information Services (IIS) on the VIP machine. Installing IIS could be considered a security hole if not configured correctly. Therefore, VIP will be removing its dependency on IIS.
